A day for every occasion?

We all recognise the importance of events like Red Nose Day and Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea but do you think having a day for every cause has gone too far?
In my inbox today is a press release announcing Check Your Home Loan Day. On that day, you’re supposed to compare your rate with the other home loans on offer. How ridiculous!

The Aztecs had a “day out of time'’ to make their calendar work (ie 13 moons of 28 days plus one day “out of time'’ equals 365 days). I think this calendar should be reinstituted for no other reason than I like the poetic nature of the phrase “day out of time'’. But perhaps this day could also be a day that no organisation can claim as a day “for'’ anything. Maybe it could become known as “Bugger Off Everyone in Marketing and Public Relations Day'’.
You can find them all listed here:

I don’t think “Check Your Home Loan Day” made it onto the list… obviously corporate lies!! But some of the other awareness days are really interesting and cool.
Hehehe… my birthday describes in scarily accurate detail how I’ll look by the end of that particular day - its both Crazy Hair Day AND Red Nose Day.
Day out of time day sounds real good. I’m so over all these other stupid days now I don’t support any anymore.
I just discovered that September 23 is Celebrate Bisexuality Day.
Now that’s a theme day I support!
