Rain or shine

Do you prefer the rain or the sunshine? Me, I’m a rain girl. I love nothing more than to listen to the sound of rain on the roof, watch it trickle down the window, walk through it, dance in it; thrust my head back and feel it on my eyelids and taste it on my tongue.

And I love the way the city smells clean after rain, how much more give my garden soil has, how clean my car gets and how the tram tracks squeak under my tyres.

But I was never one for excessive sunshine. What about you?

I love the rain! I love Winter. Summer is too hot and I never feel comfortable. In wionter all I need to do is add an extra jumper, a doona and a good book and I’m set.

When the rain hit today, I was working and all the kids ran to the window. They loved it! The looks on their faces as the water streamed down on the otherside of the glass. Doesn’t happen often enough these days. and parents are so scared that their children are going to get sick that most children don’t get that experience of being able to stand or dance in the rain.

I sincerely think I suffer from SADS( seasonal affective disorder) I love the summer, the balmy air. The long long days, the dry air. The warmth against your skin, the promise of more to come. However winter, is grey, dull, wet, cold, and miserable. Trees drip as do noses. Plants sleep as do woses……….Washing doesn’t dry, nor does footprints on floors, and its always dark, before I finish my chores.

4. Writers Block -

Sunshine is overrated… I’m a dark and rainswept moor kind of girl. So winter brings on the need to read Bronte novels and listen to bagpipe music.

Good post, cacophony, and that photo is awesome.

I’m not much a fan of either sunshine or rain (apart from their obvious contribution to the existence of life itself). Sun burns my skin and rain dampens my clothes. But I do like the way streetlights and car headlights reflect off the road after it’s been raining, and the way the sun looks when it sets or rises.
